And just like that, everyone who wears burnt orange in the fall let out a deep sigh of a relief.

Yesterday, reports came out of Texas's fall camp that starting left tackle Trevor Goosby had left Monday's practice early with an unknown knee injury. Then, tensions eased slightly when it was reported he had only suffered a bone bruise.

Now, the Horns have shared that the timeline for Goosby's return is just 2-3 weeks, barring any unforeseen complications.

That is fantastic news for the Texas Longhorns.

Texas Longhorns' timetable for Trevor Goosby's lines up perfectly for Ohio State's visit

While Goosby will likely miss the rest of the offseason practices, his estimated return window comes right around the first week of the regular season.

The best news is that Texas doesn't have a Week 0 matchup, and the Horns' Week 1 game isn't exactly a blockbuster matchup, with the Texas State Bobcats coming to town. However, in Week 2, the Longhorns will host the Ohio State Buckeyes.

That game is currently set as a top-five matchup and holds more weight than just about any other game for any other team in the entire country this season.

Goosby must be back in time to suit up for the Buckeyes.

The Ohio State defensive line is too good for the Horns to be without one of their O-Line leaders and veterans in the lineup. That much was readily evident over the last two years as Texas lost to the Buckeyes in both of their meetings.

Last season, Texas quarterback Arch Manning struggled to find any kind of rhythm against the Buckeyes as the defensive line repeatedly swarmed him in the pocket. He was only able to complete 17 of his 30 pass attempts, threw just one touchdown, and also threw an interception and got sacked once.

Goosby, along with starting center Connor Robertson, left guard Laurence Seymore, right guard Brandon Baker, and right tackle Melvin Siani, will have to do everything in his power to hold down the fort and protect Manning against Ohio State.

The same simply can't be said about Texas State's defensive line, and so, even if Goosby missed Week 1 of the regular season, the Longhorns would be just fine, more likely than not.

"[Goosby's] expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a bone bruise in his left knee. That puts him on track to potentially return around the start of the season, with another week before Texas takes on Ohio State on Sept. 12," Orangeblood's Anwar Richardson reported.

That is exactly the sort of timetable that the Longhorns needed for Goosby's return.

For now, as the Horns wrap up fall camp, a backup will have to rotate into the offensive line, but come game time, it sounds like Goosby will be in fine form to take the field.
