After a surprising run in the SEC Tournament and a consequential berth into the Big Dance, two Texas men's basketball players earned spots on the National Association of Basketball Coaches' All-Gulf District Team.
Freshman guard Tre Johnson and senior forward Arthur Kaluma both earned spots on the District roster after their impressive regular season performances and work in the conference tournament.
While Texas was far from winning the SEC title, the Horns' run to the quarterfinals surprised everyone and it was in large-part due to the efforts put in by Kaluma and Johnson.

- 19.8 points per game
- 3.0 rebounds per game
- 2.8 assists per game
- 1.0 steals per game
Johnson was an undeniable star for the Horns throughout his freshman season. It has been highly speculated that he will head to the NBA Draft and be a lottery pick after his freshman season wtih Texas, similar to Longhorn legend Kevin Durant.
Arthur Kaluma 2024-25 season stats
- 12.4 points per game
- 7.6 rebounds per game
- 1.8 assists per game
- 0.9 blocks per game
Kaluma transfered to Texas ahead of the 2024-25 season after spending two years with the Creighton Bluejays and one year with the Kansas State Wildcats. Almost immediately, Kaluma's presence became well known in Austin as he started in 31 of the Horns' 34 games so far this season.

Johnson, Kaluma, and the Longhorns will tip off their NCAA Tournament campaign in the First Four round with a matchup against the Xavier Musketeers. Texas and Xavier are scheduled to play at 8:10 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 19. The game will be broadcast on truTV.
