Longhorns WR Aaron Butler and CB Santana Wilson have officially notified Texas that they'll be entering the transfer portal today. This comes shortly after DT Melvin Hills III jumped in the portal yesterday.
Butler finished his second season at Texas in 2025 after redshirting as a true freshman in 2024. It was honestly pretty surprising that he didn't see the field much this year after drawing a good amount of hype throughout the spring. He was a 4-star recruit and ranked as the No.24 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to 247Sports' composite rankings.

He finished his Texas career with one catch for 17 yards, which came against Sam Houston this season. He'll have three seasons of eligibility left.
Wilson, a 6'0", 180-pound cornerback from Scottsdale, AZ, was a 4-star defensive back in the 2024 class as well according to 247Sports. He also redshirted last season as he was buried on the depth chart for most of the year. He's the son of former All-Pro NFL safety Adrian Wilson, and Santana still has a bright future wherever he ends up landing.
Like Aaron Butler, he too only jumped on the stat sheet against Sam Houston in 2025, recording one solo tackle.

It sounds odd, but one of the things that seemingly "hurt" Wilson coming out of high school is the fact that he was a dual player for Desert Mountain HS. He was pretty good as both a wide receiver and cornerback, but he wasn't great at either one. Things should get easier for him at his next stop now that it appears that FBS teams view him as a defensive back.
Wilson will also have three years of eligibility left.
