It was a crazy weekend of SEC football action in Week 11. All the exciting contests and crazy and unexpected results included the No. 11 Alabama Crimson Tide and No. 16 Ole Miss Rebels handily defeat ranked opponents in SEC play by double digits.
SEC football continues to see multiple teams in contention for the conference title game
Alabama toppled the No. 15 LSU Tigers by 29 points in a much bigger than expected win on the road at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge last weekend.
Ole Miss convincingly beat the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs in a 28-10 standout defensive showing in Oxford.
In other interesting results around the SEC, the South Carolina Gamecocks continue to prove the doubters wrong, with a 28-7 win on the road in Nashville over the Vanderbilt Commodores. The No. 24 Mizzou Tigers also pulled out a last-minute and ugly win at home over the Oklahoma Sooners.
Here are the post-Week 11 updated SEC power rankings, which helps sort out all of the crazy results from this past weekend in the conference.
Last week: 16 (--)
Oklahoma suffered another devastating defeat last weekend against Mizzou in Columbia. Oklahoma had the lead with two minutes to go in the fourth quarter, but a Mizzou offensive touchdown and a scoop-and-score for six ultimately gave the Tigers the victory with under 30 seconds remaining in the contest.
The Sooner offense continues to struggle in multiple phases, including four turnovers lost and barely over 250 total yards of offense against a Mizzou defense that just allowed nearly 500 yards to Alabama's offense two weeks ago.
For OU to reach bowl eligibility, it will have to either upset Alabama at home or LSU on the road in the season's final two weeks. Maybe the Sooners can figure something out during the bye week before those last two games against Alabama and LSU?
