A special season for head coach Clark Lea and the Vanderbilt Commodores will see this team look for a winning record in a bowl game this postseason. Vanderbilt came up short of the in-state rival Tennessee Volunteers at home in Nashville last weekend.

It will be fun to watch Lea, dual-threat quarterback Diego Pavia and Vandy in their bowl game to cap this season that way surpassed expectations for the Commodores faithful.

Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier played his best game in the past month and a half in LSU's 20-point victory over Oklahoma over the weekend, posting over 250 passing yards, three passing touchdowns, and no interceptions.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly needs to regroup and get his squad playing complimentary football to find more success on the field in 2025.

All things considered, this was a successful regular season for head coach Eli Drinkwitz and Mizzou. The Tigers won nine games this regular season after a touchdown victory at home over Arkansas last weekend, which was the final game in Columbia for senior quarterback Brady Cook and probably junior standout wide receiver Luther Burden.

Despite likely falling short of a spot in the 12-team College Football Playoff after a regular season result that fell short of preseason expectations, Ole Miss defeated its in-state rival Mississippi State by double digits at home over the weekend.

Ole Miss and head coach Lane Kiffin still technically have a shot at making the Playoff, but the selection committee would need to do them a favor next weekend if that does happen for the Rebels to get in the 12-team field.
