Head coach Billy Napier and the Florida Gators managed to pull a pretty successful regular season out of a daunting schedule that was one of the most difficult in college football this fall. Florida will go bowling this postseason and continue building into a promising 2025 season.

Texas A&M's offense was shut out against a stifling Texas defense in a 17-7 loss in the Lone Star Showdown at home last Saturday night. Any shot the Aggies and first-year head coach Mike Elko had of winning the SEC Championship Game and making the Playoff were decimated last weekend.

Elko and the Aggies will be a dangerous squad in the SEC next season, as it looks like Texas A&M have the right program-builder at the helm heading into 2025.

Alabama's double-digit win over Auburn did still feel like the Tide, especially on the offensive side of the ball, left some meat on the bone. The Tide had 256 passing yards and on passing scores, but rushed for four touchdowns against Auburn.

But the Tide will take a double-digit win over Auburn in the Iron Bowl on any given year.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer and the Tide were ranked inside the top 12 teams in the Playoff rankings this week. I'd have to think that the Alabama faithful will be big SMU fans this weekend when the Mustangs take on Clemson in the ACC Championship Game .

The South Carolina Gamecocks are the hottest team in the SEC, winning six straight games to cap the regular season after beating in-state rival Clemson last weekend. South Carolina and head coach Shane Beamer deserve a spot in the 12-team Playoff rankings this week, but the Gamecocks were somehow still left out of that group, ranking No. 14 by the selection committee.
