The top three teams remain the same in the post-Week 7 SEC power rankings, including No. 1 Texas at the top of the list after a resounding Red River win over OU.

. . . Mizzou. . Week 7 Result: 45-3 win @ UMass. 5-1 (1-1 SEC). . 11. 531

I don't know how that came to fruition for Mizzou and head coach Eli Drinkwitz to face a bad UMass Minutemen team on the road in Week 7 last weekend. Quarterback Brady Cook and the Tigers offense made quick work of UMass in a 45-3 win last weekend on the East Coast.

Star wide receiver Luther Burden suffered an injury for Mizzou against UMass last weekend, which will be an important storyline to watch this week to see the extent of the injury and his possible recovery timeline.

5-2 (1-2 SEC). Week 7 Result: 29-26 OT loss at LSU. . Ole Miss. . . . . 10. 532

Last week: 8 (-2)

Ole Miss's chances at a spot in the 12-team Playoff are on life support after a Week 7 overtime loss on the road to LSU. Just three games into SEC play, head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels already have two losses to foes ranked lower than them in the major polls.

The Ole Miss offense isn't producing at the level expected of them, especially with all the returning talent at quarterback and the receiving corps. Quarterback Jaxson Dart and the Rebels need to convert at a higher rate, with more points, with all the possessions they have on offense crossing into opponent's territory.

. 4-2 (2-1 SEC). . . 524. Arkansas. . Week 7 Result: BYE. . 9

Last week: 9 (--)

Before a big Week 8 game at home against rival LSU, the Arkansas Razorbacks had the bye week to prepare for a top-10 opponent for another potential upset in Fayetteville this upcoming weekend.

. 3-3 (1-3 SEC). . 8. . Kentucky. . 528. Week 7 Result: 20-13 loss vs. Vanderbilt.

Last week: 7 (-1)

The momentum head coach Mark Stoops and the Kentucky Wildcats built from the Week 6 upset win over Ole Miss didn't wind up carrying over to their game against the Vanderbilt Commodores last weekend.

Kentucky's hopes of making it to a ninth straight bowl game this season are slimming, after dropping three out of its first four games in SEC play, two of which came by one score. The schedule won't do Kentucky any favors for the rest of the season, with road trips to face Tennessee and Texas looming in the next month or so.

Per ESPN's FPI, Kentucky has the third toughest remaining strength of schedule in the nation.
