. 4-3 (2-2 SEC). Week 8 Result: 34-10 loss vs. LSU. . 524. Arkansas. . . . 11

Last week: 9 (-2)

The upset magic ran out for head coach Sam Pittman and the Arkansas Razorbacks last weekend in a convincing 34-10 loss in Fayetteville to the LSU Tigers. Arkansas' ground game was irrelevant to this game, and the contest was too far out of sight by the middle of the fourth quarter.

If Arkansas wants to ensure a winning record, or at least bowl eligibility this season, it has a must-win contest this upcoming weekend on the road in Starkville against an improving Mississippi State squad.

4-3 (2-3 SEC). . 10. . Week 8 Result: 35-9 win @ Oklahoma. South Carolina. . . . 533

Last week: 13 (+3)

South Carolina has proven it is up to the task against the best teams in the SEC this season. The Gamecocks have combined for a margin of victory of over 40 points in its two SEC wins over Kentucky and Oklahoma.

The defense held Oklahoma's rushing offense to just 53 yards and a measly 1.3 yards per carry.

. . 5-2 (1-2 SEC). . Week 8 Result: BYE. . . 532. Ole Miss. 9

Last week: 10 (+1)

Following its Week 7 tough last-minute loss to LSU, the Ole Miss Rebels and head coach Lane Kiffin got the bye week to recoup and prepare for potential Playoff-resume saving stretch in SEC play in late October and November. Ole Miss has a winnable contest this upcoming weekend at home in Oxford against the struggling Sooners.

8. . 537. Vandy. . 5-2 (2-1 SEC). . . Week 8 Result: 24-14 win vs. Ball State.

Last week: 7 (-1)

Vanderbilt staved off a potential upset bid from Ball State last weekend, with a 10-point victory it sealed late in the second half. Quarterback Diego Pavia had another productive day through the air and on the ground, rushing and passing for touchdowns while avoiding any costly interceptions.

Can Vandy shock the college football and SEC landscapes again with another upset at home in Nashville against the Longhorns this weekend?
