The College Football Playoff has provided a huge spotlight opportunity for Texas football quarterback Quinn Ewers to stabilize and boost his stock for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Ewers has picked up his play lately, managing the game effectively for the Longhorns, with over 200 passing yards and an interception that wasn't really his fault in the Playoff win over Clemson last weekend.

The turbulence Ewers has faced this season was mostly quieted after he played well and did what was needed for Texas to beat Clemson.

While the numbers paint more of a mixed picture for Ewers' season statistically, he's shown grit and perserverance to lead the Texas offense to help put away Clemson and throw for over 2,800 yards and 26 touchdowns this season.

The raw talent Ewers brings to the table makes him an intriguing prospect in this 2025 NFL Draft class.

Assuming Ewers does declare for the 2025 NFL Draft next spring, with the Arch era looming for the Longhorns next offseason, he ranks fifth in the quarterback class, according to ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. in his latest prospect rankings.

Here are the latest top 10 QB rankings from Kiper for the 2025 NFL Draft.

1. Shedeur Sanders, Colorado

2. Cam Ward, Miami (FL)

3. Jalen Milroe, Alabama

4. Carson Beck, Georgia

5. Quinn Ewers, Texas

6. Kurtis Rourke, Indiana

7. Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss

8. Dillon Gabriel, Oregon

9. Kyle McCord, Syracuse

10. Tyler Shough, Louisville

Kiper has suggested some advice to Ewers ahead of the NFL Draft for next offseason on the First Draft podcast.

"Arch Manning is going to be the quarterback at Texas next year. So if you want to play college football, you probably have to move on somewhere. I would do that if I’m Quinn Ewers. I would not come out unless I really played phenomenal football in these playoff games and came into this draft process with tremendous momentum. I don’t want to become a second- or third-round pick."

Ewers has looked more comfortable at quarterback in this last game for the Longhorns in the first round of the Playoff. He's dealt with lingering injury issues this fall, including an ankle injury he suffered on Senior Day against Kentucky in late November and an oblique strain against UTSA in Week 3 in non-conference play.

Arch Manning started two games for Texas while Ewers was recovering from the oblique injury in late September. Ewers has still put up solid numbers and has the Longhorns competitive in the Playoff going into New Year's Day in the second round.
