With Big 12 Media Days now in the rear view mirror for the Texas football program and its fans, fall camp is the next big event around the corner.

One of the biggest events during the offseason that happens a little over a month before the start of the regular season is Big 12 Media Days. This is really the final event where a lot of the Big 12 coaches and players get together to speak their minds on the status of their teams for the coming season. Texas football was a mainstay at Big 12 Media Days this year.

What made this Texas football team so important at Big 12 Media Days earlier this week was all the discussion surrounding this program entering the 2019 campaign. Since Texas football is usually in the thick of the national media spotlight each and every offseason, their participation in Big 12 Media Days draws a lot of attention.

However, Texas also brought a host of big names along with them to media days. Head Texas football coach Tom Herman and junior quarterback Sam Ehlinger headlined the seven big names that this team brought to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.

The other five that Texas brought included five seniors with wide receiver Collin Johnson, center Zach Shackelford, defensive end Malcolm Roach, linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch, and safety Brandon Jones. Texas had a lot of star power and notable names at Big 12 Media Days during this go-around.

Here’s a look at the five biggest takeaways pertaining to the Texas Longhorns football program at Big 12 Media Days on July 15 and 16.
