Since the Red River Rivalry game in early-to-mid October against the Oklahoma Sooners, junior wide receiver Isaiah Bond has been battling a lingering ankle injury. Bond missed the game in late October for the Longhorns against the Vanderbilt Commodores due to the ankle injury.

Bond's snaps were also limited in the regular season finale on Thanksgiving Week against Texas A&M.

In the SEC Championship Game against the Georgia Bulldogs, Bond reaggravated the ankle injury when he was rolled up on by Texas's running back blocking downfield on offense. Bond was also on a snap count for the Longhorns in the Playoff quarterfinal game at the Peach Bowl against Arizona State.

He played 22 offensive snaps in the quarterfinal against Arizona State, and was targeted twice, but didn't have any catches.

In practice on Sunday, Bond was reportedly taking reps with the first-team wide receivers during individual and team drills. Bond was also taking first-team practice reps for the Longhorns before the Playoff quarterfinal last week.

True freshmen Ryan Wingo and Aaron Butler were reportedly working behind Bond with the second-team wide receivers in practice over the weekend.

Bond ranks third on the team in receiving yards (533) and receiving touchdowns (five) this season.
