Throughout the illustrious history of the Texas Longhorns football program, 22 players and three head coaches have been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.

Now, two more players have worked (and earned) their way onto the ballot to enter the HOF: quarterback Colt McCoy and defensive lineman Casey Hampton.

McCoy, of course, led the Longhorns to their last National Championship appearance in 2009, as well as a Big 12 Championship just a few weeks earlier.

Hampton, who played tackle for the Horns in the late 1990s, helped lead Texas to the 1999 Cotton Bowl victory, as well as racking up his own slew of rewards while dominating on the defensive side of the ball.

Beyond the trophies that McCoy added to the Horns' case back in Austin, he took home quite a few awards of his own.

During the run to the National Championship game, McCoy won the Maxwell Award, Davey O'Brien Award, Manning Award, Chic Harley Award, Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Walter Camp Award (in both 2008 and '09, Archie Griffin Award, and the Quarterback of the Year award.

Over four years as the Longhorns' starting quarterback, he racked up 13,253 passing yards for 112 touchdowns. He tacked on 1,589 yards and 20 more touchdowns on the ground.

Hampton, who played for Texas from 1996 until 2000, went on to an incredible career in the NFL, winning two Super Bowls and becoming a five-time Pro Bowler. His career with the Horns could have told anyone that his professional career would be one of the greats.

Throughout his collegiate career, he earned 329 total tackles, 9.5 sacks, 54 tackles for loss, and nine forced fumbles. He was the first defensive lineman in school history to lead the team in tackles in consecutive seasons (1999 & 2000).

In 2000, he was the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, a Consensus All-American, and a member of the first-team All-Big 12 roster.
