The second pledge the Longhorns lost in the 2025 class early this week was a three-star offensive linemen from the West Coast.

San Francisco (CA) St. Ignatius College Prep offensive lineman John Mills flipped his commitment from Texas to the Washington Huskies on Dec. 2. Mills was committed to the Longhorns in the 2025 class since late June.

When Mills committed to Texas on June 23, Washington was the school that finished in second place. The longstanding relationships Washington had with Mills and his family, along with the big 6-foot-5 and 320-pound offensive linemen wanting to stay closer to home as we moved closer to signing day this week, were big factors in his final decision to flip from the Longhorns to the Huskies on Monday.

Washington offensive line coach/offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll, the son of heralded former USC head coach Pete Carroll, has a great relationship with Mills and his family.

Texas is down to four offensive line commitments in the 2025 class before signing day starts on Dec. 4. Offensive line coach Kyle Flood and the Longhorns are also pursuing five-star Lewisville (TX) offensive tackle and Oklahoma Sooners commit Michael Fasusi entering signing day on Wednesday morning.

The four current offensive line commits in the Longhorns 2025 class are Port Neches-Groves (TX) three-star Jackson Christian, three-star Cedar Hill (TX) interior offensive linemen Jordan and Devin Coleman, and four-star Loganville (GA) Grayson offensive tackle Nick Brooks.
