The other key Texas starter out for this game against Vanderbilt on Oct. 26 is junior wide receiver Isaiah Bond.

Bond is dealing with a lingering ankle injury that he originally suffered a few weeks ago in the Red River Rivalry game against Oklahoma. Last weekend against Georgia, Bond was limited on the sideline in the second half after playing some snaps in the first half of the game.

It was reported yesterday that true freshman Ryan Wingo is likely to get the first start of his collegiate career against Vanderbilt this weekend, with Bond out due to the nagging ankle injury.

This is a big game for other skill guys, like senior tight end Gunnar Helm, sophomore wide receiver DeAndre Moore Jr., senior Silas Bolden, and junior Matthew Golden (along with Wingo) to step up for Ewers and the Texas offense.

We also saw Texas target the running backs in the passing game more last weekend, which could be part of the offensive gameplan against Vanderbilt this week with Bond out due to injury. Running backs Jaydon Blue and Quintrevion Wisner combined for nearly 20 targets in the receiving game last weekend (per PFF).

Wingo has been one of the most explosive offensive playmakers for the Longhorns' offense. He leads the Texas offense in explosive plays, including over a half-dozen catches and runs of 20+ yards this season, along with leading the team with 19.3 yards per catch.

This will be a big opportunity for the former five-star recruit to get his first start in a ranked SEC matchup on the road against Vanderbilt this weekend.
