Running Backs – Toneil Carter and Daniel Young

Toneil Carter is a stud RB who will be competing for playing time right away as an early enrollee in the Texas Football recruiting process.

Carter will likely back-up Chris Warren in 2017, but based on what Tom Herman said in his press conference, Carter has a chance to compete for the starting job on Day 1.

Herman said there is no depth chart right now, which sounds like trite coach-speak. But, coming from Herman, it’s serious business..

Herman also said Daniel Young “might be the steal of the class.” He added that both Carter and Young present different running styles to complement a bruising back like Chris Warren.

Right now, Texas is absolutely loaded at RB with Warren, returning RBs Kyle Porter and Kirk Johnson, and incoming RBs Carter and Young. Who will emerge as the starter, though?
