Offensive Linemen – Sam Cosmi and Derek Kerstetter

We identified the Offensive Line as the #2 area of need going into National Signing Day. Texas already had Derek Kerstetter in the books, then the Longhorns added Sam Cosmi on Monday.

Texas did not add another lineman on Wednesday, though, missing out on Stephan Zabie out of Austin. Longhorns fans hope that doesn’t bite Texas since the team needs OL depth.

Fortunately, the Big Three on the line are set (despite there not being a depth chart). Connor Williams, Patrick Vahe, and Zack Shackelford are expected to anchor the five-man unit. Will Cosmi and Kerstetter join them for the start of the 2017 season?

Both recruits look like Connor Williams in the trenches because of their size, quickness, and physicality at the line of scrimmage.. Williams quickly asserted himself as one of top linemen in the country during his freshman season. We’ll see if Cosmi and Kerstetter follow suit in 2017.
