(1) Point Guard Play

Matt Coleman will solve this the minute he steps foot on a Texas Basketball court.

Texas tried to piece together multiple guards at the PG position this season, but it never clicked. Instead, it turned into guesswork for Coach Smart trying to figure out which guard was capable of running the point on any given night.

Kerwin Roach, Andrew Jones, Eric Davis, and Jacob Young took turns trying to get Texas into their offense. But, the natural shooting guards were careless with the ball at times or did not get the ball inside to the strength of the team.

Matt Coleman will make the team more decisive, get the Longhorns into their offense, and make sure everyone is involved. Coleman can shoot, but he’s a great passer. That will make defenses respect the perimeter a lot more next season.
