2022

After Texas takes a step back in 2021, the next wave of talent comes back to respond back for the 2022 campaign. This is when fans really need to get excited for Texas football due to the degree of the non-conference schedule. Recently during the 2018 off-season, Texas announced a home-and-home with the Alabama Crimson Tide that could shake the entire college football landscape.

The only other non-conference game that Texas has slated for 2022 at this point is against Rice. That should be able to take care of itself. But, if head Alabama football coach Nick Saban is still at  the the helm in Tuscaloosa, the Crimson Tide should be as strong as ever.

Alabama will never be an easy opponent under the Saban coaching regime. And, Texas will hopefully reach that point under Tom Herman. If the 2020 season is drawing extremely close national title contention, then the 2022 season should be a goldmine of success for this program.

By this point, a quarterback like Hudson Card could be leading the way. Other star recruits are sure to come along and change the game. The way Texas football recruiting is trending, a few more five-star prospects are sure to commit to come to Austin. By all counts, that should keep things rolling enough for Texas to continue as a national power and an easy double-digit win program.
