Since he’s not even included among the top 75 ranked wide receivers in the nation for Yahoo Sports this season, this would be considered somewhat of an underrated pickup. Junior wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey has the chance to be like a Tyreek Hill (Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver) of the Texas offense.

Head Texas football coach Tom Herman did not do enough, along with offensive coordinator Tim Beck, to get the ball in the hands of Humphrey last season. He racked up just 472 total yards from scrimmage and two receiving touchdowns in 2017. It was a huge jump in production and in targets from his freshman campaign, but he didn’t play much back in 2016.

Don’t be fooled by the lack of touchdown production from Humphrey last season as he should see at least a slight pickup there this fall. Where Humphrey could really see an explosion in his stat line is with total yards. Herman spoke to some during the off-season to how versatile Humphrey is and how much of a weapon he can be for this offense.

For this season, expect Humphrey to rack up at least 600 or 700 total yards and around four or five touchdowns. He can be a threat in multiple areas of the field and can even beat opposing defenses from screens, jet sweeps, handoffs, etc. Humphrey is among the biggest breakout wide receivers to watch in the Big 12.
