The second highest-rated overall recruit in this class for the Horns can help a building receiving corps on this offense. Four-star Cuero, TX, wide receiver Jordan Whittington is one of three at his position committed to the Horns for 2019. And, all of the wide receiver commits for Texas are four-star prospects.

With his final decision, Whitting chose the Horns over the likes of the Texas A&M Aggies, Arkansas Razorbacks, and the Crimson Tide. It was big for the Horns to nab Whittington over a top three class that Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher is building for the Aggies in his first year at the helm.

The other wide receivers to watch from the Horns are Arizona native Jake Smith and Oklahoma native Demariyon Houston. Whittington is the highest rated among all of them as a top 50 prospect in the nation and the eighth-best wide receiver. He’s also nearly a top five rated prospect out of the state of Texas.

Whittington’s team, Cuero High School, does not kick off its 2018 campaign until Aug. 31 against Bay City. Cuero is not one of the best high school football programs in Texas or across the country in general. However, a premier wide receiver prospect in Whittington is looking to follow up a huge 16 receiving touchdown 2017 season with something better in 2018.
