3. Turnover of more top quarterbacks in the Big 12

For the second straight year, the Big 12 will have a new set of top quarterbacks at the top of the conference. At the outset of the 2018 off-season, many anticipated the superstar senior quarterback of the West Virginia Mountaineers Will Grier to head up this group. The Oklahoma Sooners had its own candidate in the former Texas A&M Aggies transfer quarterback Kyler Murray to boast at the top of the Big 12.

Murray is set to make his way to the MLB, as the first round pick of the Oakland Athletics in the 2018 MLB Draft, after this season. And, Grier’s time will run out with West Virginia at the same time and he should make his way to the NFL as a day one pick in the upcoming draft. What will the Big 12 do after that?

There’s a laundry list of potential candidates that could be the best quarterback in the Big 12 next year. That list includes Sam Ehlinger, Charlie Brewer of the Baylor Bears, Brock Purdy of the Iowa State Cyclones, and Alan Bowman of the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Although, none of those other quarterbacks in the conference are as proven as Ehlinger or had a track record as good as him until his injury against Baylor this season. None of those really has as potent of a dual-threat ability as Ehlinger either which could give him the leg up to be above all of them come the 2019 campaign.
