5. Texas has a 100-yard rusher in every game

Head Texas football coach Tom Herman found the secret sauce to make this ground game work for the first seven games of the season. An increasingly large role given to talented true freshman running back Keaontay Ingram combined with the versatility of the senior Tre Watson is the best that this offense might be able to do moving forward.

That is if both Ingram and Watson can stay healthy down the stretch. Texas pretty much eliminated the necessity of having any other running backs in the mix at this point of the 2018 campaign. The promising rushers from last year in Daniel Young and Toneil Carter had little to no role in the ground game so far.

Junior Kyle Porter is even considering redshirting this year since he was forced out of the rotation. Although, Porter and Young did at least get some type of work this fall. Carter doesn’t even have a single rushing attempt on the season so far. If something does happen to either Ingram or Watson, the running back depth could get really thin.

Yet, if both those key figures are able to stay healthy it should be a successful end to the regular season for the Horns in the ground game. Ingram racked up his 100-rushing yard performance in an individual outing in the 23-17 win over Baylor on Oct. 13. Watson is yet to have an individual 100-rushing yard performance so that could be coming soon too.
