5. Sam Ehlinger doesn’t stop pushing this offense in the right direction

The maturation process of sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger is a beautiful thing to witness before our eyes week after week. There’s very few quarterbacks around the country that made as significant and impactful progressions during the 2018 off-season than the starter for Texas football.

As a legitimate spark plug for the energy and production for this offense, Ehlinger kept doing what he’s done all season. He made some magnificent plays that allowed the Horns to stay neck and neck with West Virginia. Herman also got back to more regular play calling for the offense since Ehlinger had another week to recover from that shoulder sprain.

A big question mark coming into this game was how Ehlinger and this Texas offense would do against one of the best passing games in the nation. West Virginia can put up points in bunches and this was guaranteed to best among the toughest challenges of the 2018 campaign for both sides of the ball for Texas.

You couldn’t ask for much more than what Ehlinger delivered for Texas football here. He was once again big with both his legs and his arm. He tossed three touchdown passes and amassed more than 400 total yards. He’s doing exactly what the Horns need to keep moving this offense forward to a potent 2019 season.
