2. Complete and healthy roster

We already mentioned that Smart and this Texas basketball team is getting two of its most capable offensive players back in the mix for the Big 12 Tournament with Hayes and Roach Jr. Hayes and Roach Jr. are the two leading scorers in terms of points per game for the Horns this season.

The background behind the two absences of late is very different. Hayes did play in the regular season finale against the TCU Horned Frogs, but did miss some time due to some potential concussion issues suffered originally against the Texas Tech Red Raiders. He made a big difference against the Horned Frogs despite the loss, though.

For his efforts during the regular season, Hayes won the Big 12 Freshman of the Year honors. He posted 19 points and seven boards in the regular season finale loss to TCU. Hayes can also have himself a big game against the Jayhawks. And, what caused Roach Jr. to miss five games at the end of the regular season was a suspension due to a violation of team rules.

Texas will also need the likes of sophomore point guard Matt Coleman and senior center Dylan Osetkowski fully efficient and ready to go against Kansas. Osetkowski had some mixed results against the Jayhawks this season, but he definitely had a huge opportunity to make an impact down low in both meetings.
