Texas Football: 3 concerning spring camp injuries
There are a few veterans for the Texas football program that missed some portion of time during spring camp that shouldn’t be too concerning ultimately. We should also preface that senior wide receiver Devin Duvernay should have an asterisk next to his name on this list since the injury shouldn’t be too restrictive even by summer workouts.
However, Duvernay did manage to have an injury surface that wasn’t noticed until winter workouts. He wound up missing some time during winter workouts and at the start of spring drills due to a leg injury that was out of the ordinary.
According to the first press conference during spring camp from head Texas football coach Tom Herman, Duvernay has a stress fracture in his pelvic bone.
Duvernay is one of the key pieces for the Horns passing game this year and needs to be healthy to round out this elite receiving corps. He missed some time along with other veteran wide receivers for the Horns in spring camp. Seniors Collin Johnson and John Burt also missed some time for various reasons thus far in spring.
Johnson will participate in some parts of spring drills, but Burt is missing due to his time spent with the Texas track program. We should see all three back by the time fall camp comes around. Hopefully Duvernay and Johnson are back in the fold for the spring football game come April.
