#26 Keaontay Ingram – Running Back

Sophomore (6-0, 215)

Keaontay Ingram could be on the verge of a breakout season for the Longhorns in 2019.

As a freshman with Texas football, Ingram played in 13 games and rushed for 708 yards and three touchdowns on 142 carries. He was also used as a weapon in the short passing game, he caught 27 passes for 170 yards and two touchdowns out of the backfield.

Ingram split carries with Tre Watson for majority of the 2018 season. But with Watson graduating Ingram will have a chance to be the work-horse back in Herman’s offense. Ingram has put on 10 pounds in the offseason according to the Texas 2019 spring roster, and the added weight should allow him to handle the bulk load of the carries, in addition to breaking more tackles.

Expect Ingram to be featured a lot in the Longhorns rushing attack with the first team this Saturday, and don’t be surprised if he breaks off a long run or two for a touchdown. Ingram’s vision and explosiveness will be put on display, and a big spring game performance could be a teaser for what we could see from Ingram next season.
