Texas Basketball: Look back at Kerwin Roach Jr.’s career
By Shane Black
The UNC game
Roach had many great performances in the Texas uniform, but none were greater than his Nov. 22, 2018 performance in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational against North Carolina.
It was the opening matchup for both squads. The Horns came in with a 4-0 record, and the Tar Heels, 5-0.
Roach took over the game early, and never stopped.
He finished with a career high 32-points on 12-for-15 from the field, including a perfect 3-for-3 from deep. Roach added seven assists, six rebounds, and four steals.
Roach led the Longhorns to a 92-89 win over the Tar Heels, the best win Texas notched all season.
This was the type of game all Texas fans wanted and expected to see out of the senior all season. He was not forcing any shots, and instead used his athleticism to get to the rim and throw down dunks like this aforementioned slam on Cam Johnson.
Roach had pretty much a perfect game on both sides of the ball.
