One of the more under-the-radar finalist lists that included the Texas football program released of late came from four-star Baton Rouge, LA, and Madison Prep Academy cornerback Joel Williams. Williams put the Longhorns in his top 13 that was released on his Twitter timeline earlier this week.

However, winning over the commitment of Williams is going to be a difficult task for this Texas coaching staff. He has offers from more than 40 schools. Getting in his top 13 was a good start for Herman and defensive coordinator Todd Orlando. But, there will be a long way to go to surpass other competitors like LSU and Texas A&M.

A few of the more notable offers that Williams holds includes the Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Oregon Ducks, and Tennessee Volunteers. He also has numerous looks coming out of the Big 12 including the Longhorns, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Oklahoma Sooners, and Baylor Bears.

What makes Williams so appealing is his dynamic skill set and insane level of athleticism. He has great agility and foot speed and some of the quicker hips that you’ll find among 2020 cornerback prospects. He also ranks as a top 215 2020 high school prospect in the nation and the No. 7 prospect coming out of the state of Louisiana.
