Texas Football: 5 most important May 2021 recruiting targets

This elite four-star Hartwell, GA, and Hart County High School tight end Cane Berrong quickly went from an unheralded prospect with no offers to a trending sensation. Berrong recently picked up his offer from Texas football on May 3. His offer sheet is set to continue expanding heading into the summer.

Berrong is the nation’s top ranked 2021 high school tight end. He’s also a top five ranked recruit out of the state of Georgia and a top 60 high school prospect in the nation. His recruiting ranking quickly skyrocketed after his sophomore campaign at Hart County ran up.

Now holding 19 offers, Berrong can have his choosing among the nation’s elite football schools. His offer sheet includes the Alabama Crimson Tide, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Auburn Tigers, Georgia Bulldogs, and Clemson Tigers. The Longhorns will have to make a big push soon to get among the front runners for Berrong.

Getting Berrong on the Forty Acres soon for a visit could be pivotal. His hometown isn’t very close to Austin, so Herman will have to put in extra efforts to build a relationship with Berrong if he wants to get this talented tight end set for the 2021 recruiting class.
