3. Tom Herman could have an influx of in-state commitments continuing

There were so many 2020 and 2021 Texas football recruiting class targets on campus over the weekend that could be announcing soon and could continue the trend of the rise up the national recruiting class rankings.

Texas fell behind pretty far in the national class rankings for the 2020 cycle thus far. According to the 247Sports Team Composite Rankings, Texas ranks at No. 34 in the nation and fifth in the Big 12. Texas has the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas State Wildcats, Oklahoma Sooners, and Oklahoma State Cowboys that all still rank ahead in the Big 12 recruiting rankings.

However, landing Jackson and Crawford could be just the spark that the 2020 recruiting class for Texas needs to get the ball rolling for the rest of the key in-state prospects. Key in-state prospects to watch that were on campus during the weekend include four-star 2020 cornerback Joshua Eaton and four-star 2021 defensive end Tunmise Adeleye.

A lot of the top targets that were on campus over the weekend in Austin for the Longhorns were active on social media, which is always a good sign. New offerees and tenured alike, this recruiting weekend looks to be something fans should consider a success. This type of weekend can also bring immediate commitment results in the coming weeks too.
