2. Family panels chipping in

Per Horns247, a pair of defensive standouts for Texas football had their parents giving a panel press conference with the families on campus with high school prospects over the weekend. Those two players that had their parents speaking were rising sophomore safety Caden Sterns and rising junior defensive end Marqez Bimage.

This recruiting weekend seemed to be a good mix of fun and serious considerations for the visiting prospects and their families. Texas did well to give a full experience of what Austin can over these prospects if they decide to become future Longhorns.

The annual pool party didn’t have as much Twitter build-up as it usually does on the official Texas Football Twitter page or from other coaches and players involved. Most of the social media activity just dealt with the official visitors for the weekend in general.

What was also working in favor of Texas that current recruits got to experience was players that are already committed to the 2020 and 2021 classes that draw interest from those who are uncommitted. Having those commits pulling for your program can always help win over the interest of prospective pledges on official visits.
