3. Kansas State Wildcats

National Class Ranking: 32

No other 2020 recruiting class in the Big 12 is relying as much on quantity in terms of commits than Kansas State. Although the 2020 class for Kansas ranks third in the Big 12, they don’t have a single commit that ranks higher than the No. 624 high school prospect.

That top prospect is Shadow Creek High School rising senior linebacker Jeremiah Harris. Texas football and Kansas State won’t have much crossover between prospects they’re targeting. Three crossovers in offerees between Texas and Kansas State includes four-star cornerback Xavion Alford, four-star safety Chris Thompson Jr., and five-star running back Kendall Milton.

Adding former North Dakota State Bison head coach Chris Klieman after the retirement of the legendary Bill Snyder did spark results on the recruiting trail. But the quality has not arrived yet in bunches for Kansas State. It does appear that Klieman could be working with a similar strategy as that of Snyder.

Landing underrated developmental recruits that fit the system well was the name of the game for Snyder. This will be the first recruiting cycle for Klieman, but 2021 will be the first full test for him. He’s doing well so far, but how he pulls these pieces together on the gridiron in Manhattan is the most important part.
