2. Kansas Jayhawks

National Class Ranking: 30

Although Kansas and Kansas State are in very similar situations for each 2020 recruiting class, there is at least more hope for the former. Kansas landed a game-changing commitment under former LSU Tigers head coach Les Miles for the 2020 recruiting class with three-star Alabama native cornerback JaCobee Bryant.

Kansas does hold 21 commitments compared to 17 for Kansas State, but there’s more depth across the board. But the results for Miles on the recruiting trail thus far are much better than they were for former Kansas head coach David Beaty. The 2019 signing class for the Jayhawks ranked at No. 68 in the nation.

The key prospect to watch moving forward for the Jayhawks is four-star Frisco, TX, wide receiver Marvin Mims. As a recruit that already received offers from Kansas and Kansas State, he could emerge as a big time target for both programs.

Waiting out the process is a big key for the Longhorns to surpass the Kansas schools in the Big 12 recruiting rankings. As holds true for Kansas State, Texas just needs to wait out a few commitments to surpass Kansas. Since Texas has seven commits compared to 21 for Kansas, the numbers are what pushes Miles over the top. This could be a wake up call for Herman to get going in terms of commitments, though.
