Potentially the most interesting target of the 2020 Texas football recruiting class in this group that is coming out of high school is four-star Athens Academy athlete and Georgia native Len’Neth Whitehead.

Since Whitehead is a native of Athens, GA, he is a pretty overwhelming favorite to land with the Georgia Bulldogs. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions give Georgia the heavy edge to land his commitment. Georgia and Texas were also two of the seven finalist schools that Whitehead trimmed his list down to on July 4.

The other five finalist schools in the mix to land Whitehead include the Tennessee Volunteers, Wisconsin Badgers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Georgia Yech Yellow Jackets, and Texas A&M Aggies. He just received his offers from Wisconsin and Texas A&M within the past two months. Georgia Tech was also his last visit taken.

Whitehead ranks as a top 250 2020 high school prospect in the nation. He mostly plays at inside linebacker for Athens Academy and should continue to do so entering his senior season. Since the Longhorns don’t have much in the way of dead set linebacker targets on the recruiting trail for 2020 at the moment, winning over Whitehead could be big.
