The five finalist schools for five-star Calabasas wide receiver Johnny Wilson did put Texas football add odds since he is a California native. The elite 6-foot-6 wide receiver could be a game-changer for this recruiting class for the Longhorns, if they can win him over from the PAC-12’s grasp.

The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions also seemingly puts the Longhorns with an uphill battle to win Wilson’s commitment over from PAC-12 schools like the Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks. Outside of Texas, Oregon, and Washington, the other finalist school in the race to land Wilson is the UCLA Bruins.

In a piece with Burnt Orange Nation where Wilson opened up on his latest Texas visits he stated:

"“I was supposed to leave Sunday, but I talked to my mom and was like, ‘I’m enjoying my time out here and I really don’t want to go back,’” Wilson said. “So she called my grandparents and just delayed my flight and told them I wanted to come back a different day.”"

Wilson was a stud in the 7-on-7 action at the Opening Finals and in one-on-one drills against the defensive backs. This momentum the Longhorns are starting to gain in his recruitment is a big deal and hopefully leads to a commitment. He could be deciding well before the Early Signing Period arrives if he continues to narrow down his finalist schools.
