Other big names to watch on offense for Texas football

Wide Receiver: John Burt, Senior

I briefly touched on the importance that Brennan Eagles brings to the table for the Longhorns at wide receiver. But there is another name worth mentioning among the deep receiving corps that Herman and Beck have to work with this season. Rising senior track star and deep threat wideout John Burt could get playing time in key spots for the Texas offense.

Running Back: Kirk Johnson, Senior

Burt did get more playing time under Herman and former Texas head coach Charlie Strong during his time on the Forty Acres than fellow rising senior, and running back Kirk Johnson. “Kirko Network” has actually been around forever for the Longhorns, since the 2015 season. He is also the brother of Collin Johnson. How much playing time will he got behind Jordan Whittington and Keaontay Ingram this fall?

Quarterback: Roschon Johnson, Freshman

With little experience to work off of for the quarterback room behind Ehlinger this coming season, Casey Thompson and the former four-star dual-threat quarterback recruit Roschon Johnson have to be ready for whatever comes their way this year. Johnson is an elusive dual-threat quarterback with a big arm that should fit Herman and Beck’s scheme well.

Offensive Line: Tope Imade, Junior

A potential underrated backup that could’ve emerged as a starter last season for this Texas offensive line was then sophomore Tope Imade. He had a legit chance to make his way up the depth chart last year, but wasn’t able to do so. Is this the year that we finally see one of the most experienced starting offensive linemen for the Longhorns step into the spotlight?
