8. Status of Kelee Ringo

Georgia and Texas football are battling it out for the top rated 2020 cornerback in the nation, five-star Saguaro product Kelee Ringo. Unless there’s a late riser in the recruitment of Ringo, it should come down to Herman and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart to get his commitment.

Defensive back tends to be a strong suit for the Longhorns in recruiting. Texas usually does better recruiting safeties than it does cornerbacks, but Ringo is a difference-maker that would be huge for the 2020 class. Ringo is an ideal 6-foot-2 and 205 pound stud that could start immediately for the Texas defense.

However, the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions tend to favor Georgia over Texas heading into the 2019 regular season. More than 80 percent of the 12 expert Crystal Ball Predictions favor the Dawgs over the Longhorns. That could all change if the Longhorns pull interest away from Georgia with a good showing in fall camp and in Week 2 against the LSU Tigers.

Recruiting tendencies change quickly at the outset of the college football regular season, but the way Ringo is trending now doesn’t look good for Texas. Rivals is also giving a big edge to Georgia over Texas at the beginning of the month of August to land the pledge from Ringo.
