3. Brennan Eagles

Position: Wide Receiver

Potentially the least concerning of the skill position injuries on this list that is still worth taking seriously is one to second-year wide receiver Brennan Eagles. Since the Longhorns made so many adjustments to the receiving corps in fall camp, including moving Devin Duvernay to the slot, Eagle needs to be ready to go.

Eagles is a rangy 6-foot-3 former four-star recruit for the Longhorns. With the way that head Texas football coach Tom Herman and offensive coordinator Tim Beck adjusted the look of the receiving corps heading into the 2019 campaign, this group can ill afford for Eagles to miss any significant amount of time.

If this elbow injury lingers for Eagles at all, it could create problems for the Longhorns in the passing game. Eagles showed that he could rise to the occasion throughout the offseason, especially in fall camp thus far. But Eagles did Tweet out a status update earlier this week giving thanks to all the support from Texas football fans on his recovery from surgery.

If Eagles is good to go for Week 1 against Louisiana Tech, it could be the beginning of a breakthrough season for him. But if Texas will be without Eagles for any significant stretch of the season, or if this injury holds him back, it could be a big setback for this receiving corps.
