Texas Football: Updated redshirt chart post-2019 regular season
By Shane Black
T’Vondre Sweat: The big defensive linemen out of Huntsville, TX, T’Vondre Sweat played sparingly in eight games this season for Texas. As a backup, Sweat finished the season with six total tackles, two pass swats, and one fumble recovery.
Marcus Washington: The 24th ranked wide receiver recruit in the class of 2019 played in five games this season in what was mainly a special teams role, though Washington did see more action on offense later in the season as Collin Johnson sat out with injuries. Washington caught just three passes for 33 yards but looks to have a bright future in what will be an open battle at the receiver position next season.
Jared Wiley: The former high school quarterback turned tight end played in nine games in 2019. Wiley started the season as just a special teams guy but transitioned to a mainstay at the tight end position after Cade Brewer‘s season ending injury. Wiley had just one catch for 15 yards, but at 6-foot-7, 255 pounds, he made a dynamic impact in the run game. He has a bright future ahead of him.
