6. Liberty Bowl: Kansas State vs. No. 23 Navy

Location: Memphis, TN

Date: Dec. 31

One of two bowl games that will take place on New Year’s Eve for Big 12 football representatives will include first-year head coach Chris Klieman and Kansas State against the upstart Navy Midshipmen. It kicks off at 2:45 p.m CT on Dec. 31. It could be a cold one in Memphis too.

The Liberty Bowl falling at the bottom of this list is a testament to how much fun it will be to watch all these six Big 12 teams competing in the postseason. It should still be awesome to see the triple-option Navy offense out of the American Athletic Conference taking on the rush-heavy offense of Kansas State.

If you look old school ground-and-pound football, then this will be the game for you. Kansas State will be led by junior quarterback Skylar Thompson, who had his best season in college yet. A Navy offense that is averaging more than 360 rushing yards per game and 4.5 touchdowns on the ground will be tough to deal with for this Kansas State defense, though.

This is the first all-time matchup between Navy and Kansas State. It could be a fun one as Navy comes in with just two losses on the season. And Kansas State will be looking to put an exclamation mark on the first year under Klieman’s coaching staff. Keep senior standout Navy quarterback Malcolm Perry bottled up, and the Wildcats have a good chance to win this game.
