4. Roschon Johnson rushes for more yards than Zack Moss

The battle between the running backs for the Texas football program and Utah in the Alamo Bowl should be awesome. Texas will be trying to push forward with the young and talented duo that features the former quarterback converted to running back, true freshman Roschon Johnson and sophomore Keaontay Ingram.

Roschon and Keaontay get to face a top running back in the nation on the opposite sideline, with Utah senior Zack Moss. The way that Huntley and Moss feed off of each other is special. This Utah ground game can be very difficult to contain thanks to Huntley’s dual-threat ability and quick decision making, which combines with the overwhelming threat of Moss’ elusiveness and power.

On the season so far, Moss totaled 1,733 yards from scrimmage and 17 touchdowns. Pro Football Focus actually named his as their First-Team All-American running back from the regular season. His steady production, averaging more than six yards per carry and 14.4 yards per reception is what earned him that All-American spot with PFF.

However, when a front seven comes prepared, Moss is prone to having off games. He only had 88 yards on 20 carries in the second-half comeback win over the Colorado Buffaloes on Nov. 30. And the was limited to just 20 rushing yards on six carries in the loss to USC back on Sep. 20. Even the Arizona State Sun Devils are a good example of loading the box to contain the threat of Moss. Arizona State allowed less than 100 rushing yards on 25 attempts for Moss.

All in all, Roschon has the chance to explode in this game if the offense gets rolling early. He plays off Ingram well and had a couple big games during the regular season, including the finale win over Texas Tech. He amassed nearly 110 total yards from scrimmage and three scores in the 49-24 win over the Red Raiders.
