The second of two commits and signees for the Georgia 2020 recruiting class on this list is the elite five-star Saguaro cornerback Kelee Ringo. About the biggest target the 2020 Texas football recruiting class had remaining after the Early Signing Period was Ringo. But he looked to already be locked into a commitment decision.

Ranked as the nation’s No. 8 2020 high school prospect and the top overall cornerback and recruit out of the state of Arizona, Ringo is about as good as it gets at the position. And it appears that the Longhorns were either second or third in line to land Ringo behind Georgia. The other that gained momentum in the months leading up to Ringo’s commitment and signing was Oregon.

Since Herman started to gain momentum in establishing a recruiting pipeline in Arizona, landing Ringo would make sense. Texas signed the No. 2 prospect out of Arizona in their 2020 recruiting class, five-star Salpointe Catholic running back Bijan Robinson. But Ringo managed to get away from the Longhorns.

The last official and unofficial visits that Ringo had on his recruiting timeline were with Georgia. It’s no surprise that he wound up committing and signing with Georgia at the Under-Armour All-American Bowl earlier this week. He’ll be about as impactful as any cornerback that Texas offered for the 2020 recruiting cycle right away.
