The biggest target remaining for the 2020 Texas football recruiting class, four-star (five-stars in the Final247 rankings) Cedar Creek strong-side defensive end Alfred Collins, just earned his fifth star. Collins earned that fifth star in the final release of the 247Sports prospect rankings for the 2020 recruiting cycle.

In those latest 247Sports prospect rankings, Collins is the nation’s No. 32 2020 high school prospect and the No. 2 strong-side defensive end. That also slots him as the No. 5 prospect out of the state of Texas. Get his commitment, and the Longhorns will be in good position to officially claim the top spot in the Big 12 2020 class rankings.

The other two programs to watch when Collins announces his commitment decision on National Signing Day are the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Sooners. Head coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide might be on the outside looking in at this point. But it’s never smart to doubt Alabama on the recruiting trail. Head coach Lincoln Riley and his Sooners are likely to make a big late push to land Collins too.

Saban had two coach visits with Collins in the past two months. His late push could make an impact on Collins. But the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions have all 10 experts picking the Longhorns. The Rivals FutureCast has a split between Texas and Oklahoma for his commitment.

This is a big one for the Longhorns to nab to boost the front seven in their 2020 recruiting class on National Signing Day.
