3. Easy to find where he fits best

This Texas football offense brings back a ton of weapons for the 2020 campaign. Black could slot right into one of the wide receiver starting positions where they lost either one of two star seniors, Devin Duvernay or Collin Johnson. Duvernay put up insane production in 2019 (more than 1,300 total yards and 10 scores) and Johnson was still efficient when he was healthy enough to play.

To-be senior quarterback Sam Ehlinger could lead a really good offense for the Longhorns in 2020.

The 6-foot-3 and 220 pound Black would likely fit better into the position left open by Johnson at the X. Either one of two wide receivers could take the vacancy left by Johnson (Malcolm Epps or Brennan Eagles), but none would match the raw talent or starting experience from the Michigan days for Black.

Texas doesn’t bring back a clear star option in the receiving corps for the 2020 season. Right now the trio that looks to take over the reigns as the next three starting Texas wide receivers are to-be sophomore Jake Smith, junior Eagles, and sophomore Epps. That doesn’t have one clear standout option, but Black could be that guy.

That slow-paced Michigan offense did Black no favors. The less than 30 yards per game that he averaged in the 17 games he played in is partly thanks to the lack of production from the Michigan passing game as a whole under head coach Jim Harbaugh and former five-star quarterback recruit Shea Patterson.
