Alfred Collins

Alfred Collins is set to announce his commitment at 3:50 CT on Wednesday at Cedar Creek High School.

Coming in as the 32nd ranked player nationally by 247Sports, the 5-star Collins is unquestionably the highest rated prospect left on Texas’ board. He is rated as the second best SDE in the class and is among just two other 5-star players yet to sign with a school.

Yes, Collins is the best available player Texas can feasibly add to this class, and the good news is it seems as if he is the strongest lock. Collins has 11 crystal ball predictions on 247Sports and they are all for the University of Texas.

Collins has limited his list to just three schools: Alabama, Oklahoma, and Texas. Though, even RJ Young of OUInsider sees Collins ending up in the burnt orange.

This is a guy, who if developed properly, could be a three-and-done first round draft pick. He is athletically gifted and standing at 6-5, 285 pounds is fit to contribute right away.

Should Texas land Collins I see him getting significant snaps as a defensive end alongside of Ta’Quon Graham and Joseph Ossai in 2020.
