One of the more interesting prospects that the 2021 Texas football recruiting class recently sent a scholarship offer to is a long-time target of head coach Mike Leach. Four-Star Lubbock Coronado pro-style quarterback Sawyer Robertson has one of the bigger arms of any prospects at his position for this recruiting cycle. He is also just one of three pro-style quarterbacks in the 2021 class that the Longhorns offered thus far.

A lot of the attention Robertson was getting throughout his recruitment prior to him switching head coaching jobs was from the Washington State Cougars. It appears that Wazzu could still be in the mix to land Robertson’s commitment, but the Mississippi State Bulldogs sent him an offer almost as soon as Leach landed in Starkville.

This 6-foot-3.5 and 190 pound native of West Texas ranks as the nation’s No. 174 2021 high school prospect and the No. 9 pro-style quarterback. He also ranks as a top 30 prospect out of the state of Texas. Robertson had a stellar junior season at Coronado which included nearly 4,000 passing yards and 44 touchdowns, with less than 10 picks.

Moreover, Robertson holds around twice as many schools on his offer sheet so far compared to Kitna. The more significant of his offers came from the Arkansas Razorbacks, Florida State Seminoles (who he recently visited this month), SMU Mustangs, TCU Horned Frogs, Wisconsin Badgers, and USC Trojans.
