2. Marquise Goodwin, Wide Receiver

Maybe the fastest former Texas football player in the last decade is the often-injured of late wide receiver now with the San Francisco 49ers Marquise Goodwin. This past season, Goodwin was only able to play in nine games with the 49ers before a lingering injury would hold him out the rest of the way (including their run to the Super Bowl).

In the 2013 NFL Draft, this 5-foot-9 and 180 pound wideout was picked up by the Buffalo Bills in the third round. He would later land with the 49ers and form a good duo with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Goodwin continues to burn opposing defenders, and that was proven well before he ran an electric 40-yard dash time in the 2013 NFL Combine.

Pretty much the sole reason why Goodwin is this high up on the list is the fact that he ran one of the fastest 40-yard dash times of any player in the last decade of the NFL Combine. His 40-yard dash time rang in at 4.27 seconds, and he had a 132 inch broad jump measurement.

Goodwin ran the third-fastest 40-yard dash time over the last decade. That only came in behind former Kent State Golden Flashes running back Dri Archer (4.26) and Washington Huskies wide receiver John Ross (4.22).

Although, the bench reps for Goodwin weren’t the greatest. He only had 13 reps up on the bench press. That was all that he registered for measurements at the 2013 NFL Combine.

The Olympic level speed that Goodwin brings to the table was one of the reasons why he was a day two pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. His college production was by no means fantastic, but he is one of the more potent deep threats in the NFL these days.
