1. Jordan Hicks, Linebacker

While former Texas football All-Big 12 linebacker Jordan Hicks (now with the Arizona Cardinals) didn’t have any record-breaking or overwhelming 2015 NFL Combine measurements, he did have maybe the best fruition of a number of factors. The Longhorns saw one of their most productive linebackers of the 2010’s show out in a big way ahead of the 2015 NFL Draft.

Hicks went into the 2015 NFL Combine projected as around a round 4-6 pick for the upcoming draft. But this well-rounded combine outing elevated Hicks to the point of a third round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2015 NFL Draft. This 6-foot-1 and 235 pound linebacker tested well in almost every area for his position group.

He ran a 4.68 40-yard dash time, 6.78 three-cone drill, and a 4.15 shuttle time. Hicks added to that with an impressive 20 reps on the bench press and a broad jump of 124 inches. He was able to cap all that off with a 38 inch vertical. His physical measurements have remained about the same since the 2015 NFL Combine, though.

It’s rare that a player is able to elevate his drill times and strength measurements all-around ahead of any NFL Draft. But that’s what Hicks was able to do through and through in the 2015 NFL Combine. His NFL career was very successful since as he does have a Super Bowl ring in his time with the Eagles and ranked in the top three in the league in combined tackles last season.
