Defensive End

Starter: Ta’Quon Graham, Senior

The model of the defensive line for the Texas football program this fall will be more similar to that of the 2018 roster than last year. Texas has two seniors that could be vying for a lot of playing time at the main defensive end spot. And the favorite to take the bulk of the starts should be the 6-foot-3 and 300 pound Ta’Qon Graham.

The former four-star recruit Graham has 47.0 career total tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss, and 4.0 sacks. Last season was his best since arriving on the Forty Acres, where he racked up 2.5 sacks and a double-digit number of tackles for loss. The expectations should be even higher for Graham heading into the final year of his eligibility with the Longhorns.

Backup: Marqez Bimage, Senior

This senior laden defensive line for the Longhorns could actually withstand a good amount of injury problems this fall. That is something that could not be said for the front seven under former defensive coordinator Todd Orlando last season.

Playing in 13 total games up to this point in his career with Texas, defensive end Marqez Bimage racked up 17.0 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, and 1.0 sacks. He also has one career pass deflection, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Bimage is one of the lone projected backup defensive linemen for the Longhorns that has yet to put his name in the NCAA Transfer Portal.
