The best under the radar name on this list for the Texas football program out of the transfer portal is the former Mizzou Tigers wide receiver and rising junior Kam Scott. This 6-foot-2 and 175 pound standout wide receiver did elevate his game a bit during his sophomore season. That included 17 catches for 328 yards and no touchdowns.

This Manvel High School product and Manvel, TX, native is from close to the Forty Acres. He ranked as the nation’s No. 427 2018 high school prospect before announcing his commitment to then Mizzou head coach Barry Odom. But he seems ready to take his talents elsewhere after just two years in Columbia.

Scott didn’t get an offer from the Longhorns out of high school, despite being a Texas native, but he did get around a dozen other schools sending scholarship offers his way. Among those that he passed up included the Baylor Bears and Tennessee Volunteers. Yet, he made a solid decision by all accounts by the end of his freshman season.

As a speedier wide receiver with reliable hands and a good route running ability, Scott could be a good fit with a number of other programs including the Longhorns. This is why Texas should look into him to give quarterback Sam Ehlinger another weapon and ease the transition for former offensive analyst and wide receivers coach Andre Coleman.
